Turning up the heat on a spicy annual fundraiser
Stand up straight and pay attention you ’orrible lot! Here's how the good eggs at Nonsense whipped up a tasty video to explain how Britain’s curry lovers could get involved in The Soldiers’ Charity’s yearly fundraiser. Warning: may contain pun-happy vegetables!
Meet Sergeant Chili Pepper and all his culinary compatriots — a set of characters crafted from a careful composition of real veg, and the mouths of a couple of actors! We join them in a serious briefing meeting, where Sgt. Chilli Pepper commands them to go out and find people to get involved in Big Curry to raise money The Soldiers’ Charity.
The video inspires as well as entertains. We like to think it’s a delightful recipe of fundraising ideas, countless food-based puns and a rousing call to action! Have a watch, and keep an eye out for the non-speaking role of Cumin, which is, errr, beautifully acted by a member of the Nonsense team.
Our video — and its culinary stars — is still helping to inspire curry-lovers up and down the land to get together for a korma and a collection. Not that they really need an excuse…
