Helping Gourmet Burger Kitchen polish off 10,000 Facebook Likes

After all the strategic work we’ve been doing for Gourmet Burger Kitchen, it was great to get our first campaign completed for them.

As they approached hitting 10,000 “Likers” on Facebook, GBK wanted to take the opportunity to increase engagement with existing fans. The GBK Facebook Page has been lovingly nurtured over time attracting fans purely through the brand’s great product and playful kiwi spirit coming through in their Community Management.

To say thanks for everyone’s support, we created a very simple competition mechanic that was promoted to existing fans only, via a simple wall post (and no media spend). This pointed to a tab which housed a video we shot asking the question “If we stacked 10,000 Kiwi Burgers one on top of the other, how tall would it be?!”.

The answer was also delivered a week later through simple video content, with one lucky winner receiving six months free GBK!

The Outcome:
The interaction rates on the posts for this activity were over double what GBK usually achieve. Even better, the rate of Likers spiked, showing people were sharing this competition with their friends.
