We’re a growing team of thinkers and doers, comprised of client service, planners and creatives who work closely alongside our in-house design, video and technical teams. We have recently turned 10 years old and following a successful year of winning a number of really interesting new clients, we are looking to bring in a Senior Account Director to replace an existing team member and really take our offering to the next level.

The Role

This role requires a whippet-smart, ambitious and commercially minded Senior Account Director who has a real commitment, passion, and flair for delivering innovative work; combining sound strategic thinking and informed market knowledge. All of which is underpinned by a strong understanding of digital platforms gained across a mix of sectors.

The successful candidate will be inherently entrepreneurial in nature, with a proven track record of driving business growth through existing clients. This role is for someone whom enjoys ‘ferreting’ out new opportunities and being an invaluable partner to their clients by demonstrating great thought-leadership and partnership.

They will thrive on close collaboration with planners and creatives ensuring that the work we produce is first class, delivers against our clients marketing objectives and ultimately helps drive their business forward.

Joining a growing Client Service department, the SAD will play an active role in helping shape our overall client offer. This is a role for someone hungry and ambitious to do their best ever work and a step up to the next level.

Specifics of the role

The role in a nutshell

At Nonsense, our Senior Account Directors and Account Directors lead our day-to-day Client relationships with support from the senior management team. First and foremost, they are responsible for the delivery of winning creative work which meets the client’s needs and addresses their business challenges. They oversee a client account (or set of accounts) within the agency, ensuring they are profitable and growing. They manage their own team and collaborate closely with Planning, Creative and Production, and have an innate ability to inspire others inside and outside the agency. As well as managing their own clients they will be involved in pitches for new business, approaching these with both a creative and commercial mindset. Most importantly; you think ‘Client’ and not just ‘Campaign’.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationships — Developing strong and fruitful relationships with key clients through strategic guidance and the delivery of outstanding, effective work.
  • Project Delivery — Overseeing the efficient delivery of projects that are on brief, time, and budget.
  • Client Development — Organic growth of projects delivering a pipeline of regular campaigns.
  • Finance — Leading forecasting and billing for key clients.
  • Line Management — Mentoring team members, ensuring they are adding fantastic value to the agency and are given clear career development plans.
  • New Business — Assisting with business development and pitches as and when required.

Skills & Experience

  • Direct experience as a Senior/Account Director in an integrated agency (with a digital bent)
  • Exceptional account handling skills and an ability to think strategically
  • Strong creative brief writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Planning, Creative, and Production
  • Experience with measurement models and project evaluations
  • A keen eye for detail with excellent written English and numeracy skills
  • Experience of new business and pitches would be desirable
  • Proven track record in client development
  • Understanding of the dynamics of FMCG and/or Retail

Client details

The successful candidate will be the day-to-day lead on our second largest client and will report into our CSD. This client owns a number of much loved family brands and so an understanding of FMCG and/or Retail would stand you in good stead. In addition to this we are looking for candidates with an integrated background whom understand the specifics of social media and the role it plays in the wider marketing mix.
